Terms and conditions:

Payment:

Prices are non-negotiable. Quotations are valid for one month.

Deposit:

30% of the total cake price is required within one month of your quotation being issued. Payment of your deposit secures your date in my cake diary. In the event that a deposit is not paid, I cannot guarantee the price or the availability of the date.

The deposit may be made by cheque, bank transfer or paid in cash.

Final payment:

Final payment for wedding cakes must be made two weeks before the collection / delivery date. This may be made by cheque, bank transfer or paid in cash.

For all other cakes, final payment may be made on the day if paid in cash. If paying by bank transfer or cheque payments must have been received into my bank account before collection / delivery in order for the cake to be released.

Cancellation:

Deposits will be retained for any cancellations.

If you wish to reschedule the order, I will do my best to accommodate your wishes, but this will depend on availability.

In the unlikely event that I have to cancel an order, I will ensure that any payments already received are refunded in full.

Design:

If you wish to make alterations to the design please let me know in sufficient time; I will do my best to accommodate changes but they may not be possible in the time available. Please note that some changes may incur additional costs.

Dietary requirements:

Customers should inform me of any allergies they or their guests may have. Cakes can be produced which are nut-free but please remember they are baked in a kitchen where nuts are used and traces may remain.

All cakes contain dairy products, eggs and gluten, unless specified otherwise. The carrot cake recipe contains nuts and fruit cakes also have a layer of marzipan under the sugarpaste. Small amounts of alcohol may be used in cake decoration.

Non-edible items:

Sometimes items are used in decoration or to support the cake which are non-edible. Full details will be supplied with your cake and it is your responsibility to ensure that you remove these items before the cake is eaten.

I do not supply fresh flowers for use in cake decoration and it is the customer’s responsibility to liaise with the flower supplier over which flowers are suitable for use on cakes, as some are poisonous.

Delivery:

If you choose to have the cake delivered, you should provide details of the date, time and venue along with postcode. Please bear in mind that although I will make every effort to ensure your cake is delivered in plenty of time, there may be delays outside my control; in this case the maximum compensation is a refund of the delivery price.

Once the cake has been delivered and set up, I cannot be held liable for any damage which may occur. A signature will be required to certify the safe delivery and set up of the cake.

If you are collecting the cake, please bear in mind that you will need adequate space in which to transport it. It would be best for the cake box to stand upright in the boot of the car with non-slip matting underneath. Please note that cakes with several tiers can be vulnerable during transportation and you should check that your wedding insurance covers cake transportation.
